Humility

 

Andrew Murray, born in 1828 and author of many Christian books, said 

“Humility Is the basis of all virtues.”  

Reading the first four chapters of his tiny book “Humility,” completely silenced me, as though he had written it just for me.  Now, when others talk, I listen in my head to what I normally would have said, embarrassed, and grateful for the silence.  I’m glad to say, I don't readily slip back into my old ways, and no one seems to mind.  The world goes on and the silence is its own reward.
