I had quite a day on Thursday.   I started at the library in the morning to finish up printing info I needed for housing recertification.   It’s June, again. Already.   Wow.   At 12:15 The Metro Mobility bus pulled up, right on time, taking me to three hours at the dentist in preparation for my surgery in July.   I was n ot the only passenger today as there is already a young man in a motorized wheel chair.   Introductions, paper work out of the way, and we were off.   It was apparent the driver and the other passenger were old friends and I got to sit and enjoy the conversation.   As we approached Planned Parenthood, there was a huge billboard claiming access to abortion as a “Minnesota Value.”   Pretty s oon we’ll be bombarded with this talk non-stop, 2028 being an election year.    The young man said he volunteered at Planned Parenthood.   From his speech and body motions I had assumed that he had a development problem, so...

Are you an inviting Christian?

Don't go out in a crowd of unsaved, expecting the crowd to “cheer you up.”  Is that inviting?  Work out your issues privately with the Lord and other Believers.  Then mingle with the unsaved.  Once you are saved, Christ is part of every conversation you will have. It's always at least a three-way  conversation.  What Would Jesus Do? Is not the point.  As your partner, What is Jesus participating in with you?  That’s the real question. Any time you present/represent the Lord to others, (any time you're out in public) it's really an invitation to join you in Christianity, not an invitation to be part of your self-motivated self-centered life. Do you make Christianity inviting?  Christian means Christ one/one in Christ. Once, always and forever. Is God getting ready to take me home and He's helping me prepare. Or maybe I'm finally taking my life seriously. Either way, not having to worry about actual accomplishments let's me see/think bey...

Rise and Shine

The earlier I get up, it not only adds actual hours to my day, but the encouragement multiplies and brightens that time.

Where are you going with this"?

People decide for themselves how they will treat other individuals. Everyone has the right to do things their own way as long as they don't legally or physically interfere with others. Our CHOICE is, how are we going to receive their actions?  For some reason this gets through to me, helps me respond .  Rather than react .  When you feel people are pushing you to participate in the drama they are participating in, purposely pause and say a little prayer.  Make it obvious that you are stepping back, not continuing the other person's pace and tempo.  Taking back your/God’s control.  You might even ask “Where are you going with this?” A good response for many hesitant situations.

Learning and Discipling

6.4.26    From Dallas Willard: discipleship is a process of becoming who Jesus would be if he were you Living our life in the shadow of a teacher is one thing, but taking the things that teacher shows us to build our own life, is personal development.  Only the Word is worthy of our devotion. The Holy Spirit holds our hand and guides us while teaching us.  Frail people need assurance of our continued presence and encouragement. Be generous when we deal with people, save rationalizing for later.   A warm generous interaction with people not only warms their heart, but ours, too. Once again, I believe God uses our time here on earth to train us for eternity, for positions that he has in mind for us. Are we making the most of that training? For our benefit and for His. How are you doing this? It might be related to your spiritual gift. When petty grievances occupy our mind, they harden our hearts so that we're not able to carry on our relationship with God. ...

ADHD/Autism?

6.4.26   Do things that must be done, despite handicaps, and eventually they will become habits.  See them not as chores, but as habits being formed.  Habits take much less effort than chores.  Mom and Dad can help with this.
