Whispers from the Holy Spirit

Gifts are not an end in themselves, God gives them to us to help other Believers and glorify Himself.    That is how we will get everything we pray for, when they are in God's plan.

Disciple:  According to Dallas Willard,                   Discipleship is the process of becoming who Jesus would be if he were you.   This works hand in hand with Christ in us and us in Christ.  As I go through the day, I try to choose ahead of time to do things Jesus would do, not just make good at-the-moment decisions.  This includes my thoughts.  When they’re out of line I can turn back and if I don't then I'm getting into the area of sin and confession.  This is such a relief.  Confession is necessary to stay in fellowship with God.   Christian: Christ one.  One with Christ.  Me in Christ. Christ in me.   Dallas Willard says 90% of the time, God speaks to him while he's reading his Bible.   Does God ride along with us or is He the bus? God doesn't want to rule us; He does, however, give us a round of choices....

 God is interested in people who are interested in Him.  John 6:44 KJV, Jesus says: to the murmuring crowd:  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. I believe when God shows an interest in a person they will be open and searching for a Believer to guide them. Keep an eye out and your heart open for those who are seeking this knowledge.  God tells us the He is a Gentleman and doesn't push himself on people and we should follow His example.  

 It occurred to me today that maybe the reason the two most recent temp jobs I had, which seemed to have been made just for me; maybe the reason they failed is because I was supposed to be spending my time writing, instead.   Leave others on a good footing with God when you have a disagreement with them.  They should be able to freely say, "Thank You, Father. when you're done.   Uncontrollable anger is strait from hell.   Father, when we are meant to work with another on your behalf, call that person to yourself, work on their heart and then bring me into the picture, preparing my heart at the same time.  So much time spent, so much to accomplish. When we are equally yoked, our gifts will be tailored to our combined service.   Gifts are not an end in themselves.  God gives them to us to be used in His service.  That is why we can be assured of getting what we are asking for, if they are destined for God's service.
