Perfect?

An old situation presented itself in a new surrounding today.  When my alarm went off 2 hours before church which is 15 minutes away, I just didn't get up. Why would I set my alarm two hours early?  I gave myself permission to lie still and listen to my thoughts.  When I picture church in my head, I see an older woman and her husband a few rows ahead of where I am sitting.  She has short hair which shines in the recessed lighting, she's appropriately dressed and is sitting within a group of friends.  For me, this is a consequence of my perfectionism.  It's in no way a reflection of anyone else.  By definition, it means if I jump high enough and meet standards that are "just a little better," I can be perfect  These standards have nothing to do with my relationship with The Lord, which is where true importance lies.   We could look at this problem as a blessing in disguise.  Maybe self-help "encouragements".  Would we be happier...

So. Acting on my own last post, some words.

What do you want to grow up to be?  Quite a question.  Do we have a clear idea of who we want to be?  Are we giving our children a clear picture of who a Christian is, what would please God? I've been getting a picture that I'm living according to my emotions.  This means instability.  With a picture of who God wants me to be I have  reason to take my eyes of myself and my emotions.  An aim:  a mindset of God's presence.  I recently heard an explanation of pictures you used to see where individuals had halos.  This person's explanation was that people who are filled with God give off a glow.  Sometimes you see a Christian and know their identity by their attitude and presence.  I believe it's the same thing.   Ephesians 4:32 , "And be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you."
