Whispers from the Holy Spirit

Although I've been saved for 40 years I have developed a closer relationship with God  in the last few months  through a trial I've been experiencing at my new place of residence.  The enormity of the trial and my complete helplessness in handling it has shown me how much I need Him.  A woman where I live has decided that I need to be a part of her life and that she is capable of "fixing" me.  The simple fact is that I only to want to have a polite "nod and Hello" relationship with her but she wants more.  I have learned from watching many interactions between the 150+ tenants here that not everyone likes any one person.  That's fine and that's normal.  There are people who glance away when they see me coming and I pass by quietly.  Often that changes and I try to let the other person set the pace.   We have such an advantage because God assures us that that no matter what happens, we're tucked securely under wing and He's in char...

  Maybe you have a problem with this, too.   Is just getting moving an obstacle?   Are thinking and saying actual “to do” actions/items? When I seem to be sitting idly, is the thinking and storytelling in my head an item on my invisible “to do” list of life? I need to make a conscious decision not to “think” until I get up and get moving. Is philosophizing another item?   Is it able to hijack my self?   First think about and then carry through my “to do” items. Thinking seems to be my number one priority. Experiencing God Day by Day No one is more precious in the Lord’s sight than a godly person. God is pleased whenever He finds someone who  strives to live a righteous life and bring glory to Him. God sets such people apart in a special place in His heart. They are always kept before Him, and He stands ready to respond to their faintest cries for help. Sin separates us from God, causing Him to close His ears to our praying. It is futile for us to pray when we are knowingly practicing sin. But the opposite is also   true. God chooses to honor us by listening to our every cry when we are living a godly life. An abiding security comes with living a blameless life.
