Pledge Allegiance

 

It’s hard to decide what to share some days, some things are fundamental and others are timely; right now, David McCullough and John Adams are high in both of those categories. 

David McCullough recently passed away having authored my very favorite book, “John Adams.” The setting is Adams’ life and service to our budding nation. Such an inspiration, Adams lived for this future country molded by his family’s background and principles.  Adam’s wife, Abigail, had a similar upbringing, raised with the values that a nation would be built on.  John and Abigail respected, loved and supported each other, sacrificing even their companionship for years.

It would be so inspiring if every American voter could read “John Adams” and let it be their chief guide and standard for the upcoming presidential election.  Give us candidates worthy of choosing from.  Hopefully someone out there has spent their life preparing for just this time. Instead of people looking for what they can take from our country give us people who love her and want to encourage her and build her up. 

Let’s buy and read every Bible and every copy of “John Adams,” and then rev the printers back up and show our friends and relatives just what God had in mind when he created our country.  Give us good reason to raise our voices and pledge allegiance. Give us Godly candidates and then stand behind them.  

“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. “This is the first and great commandment. “And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself” Matthew 22:37–39.
