Who We Truly Are

We Automatically, effortlessly become who we picture ourselves to be. To change, adopt an internal mental picture of who you want to be and you will automatically be drawn and go there.  We are who we are because that's what we truly, deeply believe about ourselves.  Don't try to force a behavior from yourself. Truly believe that God loves you and then just relish that feeling, share it with others. No longer participate in an image that someone else, maybe a parent, has projected on you. Form your own image of who you want to be and then allow yourself to go there and enjoy being that person. Stop struggling against an image of what we don't want to be, given to us by someone else.  We have the ability to let our natural love shine through. We can then understand that God truly loves us.  Believe that.

Stop listening to other people's ideas of you.  Form your own and you will naturally live that out.    Listen to God in the process and allow yourself to truly, deeply believe that God loves you. Don't let anyone else tell you who you are, listen to God.  See yourself tucked under His wing.  Visualize, allow yourself, to be under the power of the Holy Spirit.  Only Believers have the Holy Spirit indwelling them.  When instant anger takes over, mentally release the image that goes along with it and picture yourself under God's wing.  That's much, much stronger than your anger.  Allow yourself to be the image that God has for you, how God sees you. Embrace that image.  Don't let anyone else tell you who you are, who you should be.

A particular behavior: If it's something that Jesus wouldn't do, don't weave it into your self image.

Blackabys tell us that God made us for a relationship with Him. That’s best done in the context He has in mind.
