As It Should Be

 It’s a good thing that we feel down when we haven't at least been reading, let alone studying.   When we are immersed in the world we become like the world. To regain God’s peace we have to water our souls with His word and His Word. That’s the way God designed it. Better choices  >  better lives. Once again, God wants us to choose Him. 

If you’re interested in knowing God, consider John 6:44 where Jesus says: 44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.  

Prepare for the Father to draw you by praying the one prayer God answers for the unsaved, a prayer for their salvation and a relationship with Him. 

The definition of Christianity is, your personal relationship with God. Everything else,  particularly our good works, is Religion, seldom spoken of favorably in the Bible. Good works are very important for showing the world about God, but they aren’t part of our relationship with God. How hollow you would feel if your loved ones only talked about the world instead of the two of you. How empty it would leave you. God feels the same way.  He loves His children as a perfect parent and hungers for their love in return.  

 

Choosing God. Everything from what we do “Sunday morning” to timing out the conversation at the next table. “Frame of mind” is so influenced by our choices. 

I believe the word passive is closely related to humility. Let God take the aggressive seat. 

Let him totally be the director. 

Cultivate a life and heart that is softened to receive Jesus. 

Then temper and mold yourself by what you see and read and with whom you visit, passively being yourself. Again, passively, let others see Christ in you. Passive:  Resting in God’s strength, not our own.  This takes courage.

At the very least, give your unsaved friends a place to turn to. 

Is the Holy Spirit strong and gentle?

 Our vengeful nature versus God’s admonition to Forgive. Vengence is mine saith the Lord. When it comes right down to it,you don’t want to see God employ vengeance in your relationships. When we have troubles, pray for those involved and ask God to handle things peacefully.  The vast majority of the world doesn’t know God’s love (or help and guidance). People are trying to find answers and deal with the world the best way they know how. How fortunate we are under God’s wing and how generous we can afford to be. 

Psalm 91: 3&4. He shall cover you with His feathers,And under His wings you shall take refuge;His truth shall be your shield and buckler.  

With such an advantage, does it make you cry to even think of not being forgiving? Imagine holding onto God with one arm and reaching out to give comfort and forgiveness with the other.
