Cease from . . .

June 24, 2024 God showed me the hate that still lingered when I repeated the verses about vengeance being His. I realized that was not my intent, I just wanted Lyng/Jean to stop harassing me, not punish her.  What a feeling of calm that provided, no more hating her, just a feeling of peaceful observance.  A possible end 

Then while reading my “Experiencing God” devotional by the Blackabys this morning, June 24, God reinforced His words with “Be Merciful.”   Matthew 18:33 “Shouldn’t you also have mercy on your fellow slave, as I have had mercy on you?” I highlighted: …”but the merciful person does not demand justice for the guilty person.” 

 In the past, I might have asked, “Father, please put the blame for that sin on me”.  But I realized it has already been put on Christ and had already been taken care of.  Likewise, this sin has already been taken care of. 

 Earlier, searching on “cease” in my Bible, I found Job 3:17: “There, the wicked cease from troubling, and there the weary are at rest.” “There” being the realm of never having happened. I don’t want punishment or vengeance, just “never having happened”. An end to trouble on both sides.  Such peace. 

 I love it when God shows me a principle two times in succession. It is as comforting as if He was here with me, tucked under His wing. Thank You, Father. What a way to start my day.

When I'm nervous I talk. BE STILL .  Thank you for showing me that,  Father.    Being a Christian is in our heart rather than something we do.  Building our world on ungodly principles, misrepresenting God's true meanings and following self-proclaimed Christian examples turns our rock-solid foundation to styrofoam.  We will all answer to God for the decisions we make here on earth.   God doesn't schedule in idleness .  God doesn't plan for obesity . God doesn't  factor in missed, unprepared-for opportunities . Each of those is a total waste of God’s intentions, resources, plans for our lives.
